Shakespeare's Mobile

I've recently completed working as a media mentor in vfx on the film Shakespeare's Mobile for Integrate Bristol, it was great project to be involved in and acted as a nice balance to the rather more serious Silent Scream.

You can read more about the film here.

I'll post some stills and possibly clips here soon.

Living Frontiers

I recently completed a grade and motion graphic for a film being shown as part of an exhibition called Living Frontiers for Zed Productions. The Telegraph wrote an article about the exhibition, which you can see here.

I'll upload some stills from the graphic soon!

Silent Scream

I recently completed a colour grade for the film Silent Scream. It's the second film I've worked on with Integrate Bristol (the first being Dhag Dheer). The film deals with the very pressing problem of FGM being practiced on girls from the UK (and world wide), and whilst causing a bit of a stir has been very well received.

You can read more about it on the Integrate Bristol website here. There's also a trailer here to view, but it's not got the final grade applied.

Pictures from the event (which Alesha Dixon attended) can be seen here.

The Bristol Evening Post wrote an article about the event, you can read that here.

I'll upload some stills from this film soon.

Sponsored Dog Walk

Jayne Chard of Hummingbird Films is arranging a sponsored dog walk to raise money for the free veterinary practice she runs in Thailand, I think she can explain better than I so I'll copy her text in to this:

"Dear Friends,
We are hoping to raise £2,000 to set up a much needed X Ray machine in the Charity's clinic on Koh Tao.This piece of kit is desperately needed as we often have animals who have broken limbs as a result of road traffic accidents. Please give what you can to help. Maybe even join us in raising the funds? Set up your own fundraiser page on this website!!"

You can sponsor her here.

And as it's a jolly good cause you probably should :o)

The Golden Age of Canals

ALP's latest BBC4 doc went out last night, and got viewing figures of 990,00. Which is pretty amazing, for BBC 4.

You can catch it on iPlayer, and help boost that figure, should you wish :o)

I did the grade and online, and am very happy with how it turned out.

Minecraft! Part 2...

Oh dear, making a longer Minecraft timelapse seems to have killed or at least coincided with the death of my laptop :o(

About the last thing it managed was the upload to Vimeo, hope you like it:

Apparently Blogger doesn't like more than one Vimeo video embedded in each post, this would have just been an update...

Update:

Woo! Laptop fixed! :o)

Minecraft!

Minecraft can be one of those distractions that gets in the way of doing something 'productive', but I've had an idea for a short film sort of thing to make with it, and this video is the very (VERY) beginnings of something actually happening to that effect. I need a more powerful computer though, my laptop does not like long draw distances :o(

Shakespeare's Mobile

I'm helping out on another project for Integrate Bristol, this time is a film called Shakespeare's Mobile, which was written by a nine year old from Whitehall Primary. The first days filming was yesterday, and was a lot of fun. The Bristol Evening Post wrote an article about the project, which you can read here.

I'll post more news and pictures from this when I can, but it should be a very rewarding experience.

Creatures of Japan #01

I knocked up this photograph of a bear in a crowded street in Japan. The photograph was originally by Anthony Jones, who has an an excellent blog of his photographs and work as a sound recordist in TV.

I made it look vintage 'cos that's what the kids are up to these days.

Instagram

I haven't posted in ages, despite having loads of stuff to put up... Shame on me. But, I wanted to link to a site to show something that I really, really like. Instagram is an iPhone app for photo sharing, with loads of really nice filters built in, and it's free! You can see my most recent pics here.

And to give you a bit of a preview, here's the last pic I put up:

Oh, and I suppose this may be a tease of something something up in the future...
